Now, look inside the mouse. You'll see two rollers--one for vertical movement and one for horizontal movement. That's where most of the junk usually ends up. Use a cotton swab and some alcohol to rub away the residue. You won't need much alcohol; just moisten the swab. Turn the rollers until you get all the residue off.
